CHANGES TO BULK BILLING ASSIGNMENT OF BENEFITS AS OF 1.07.2026

From 1st July, consent must be obtained at every visit.


Assignment of Benefits

In order for us to bulk bill your appointment, you will need to provide consent for Medicare to pay your provider directly. This is called Assignment of Benefit. 


What does this mean for you?

Our team will ask you to complete a short consent form for every bulk billed appointment. This can be done digitally via an SMS link, paper form in practice, or by pressing the Tyro button.

Sign before, during or after your visit

You can give consent at the time of booking your appointment, when you arrive for your appointment, or right after your appointment, whatever works best for you.

Each visit requires a new Assignment of Benefit form

You'll need to provide a new Assignment of Benefit consent each time you're bulk billed.


Things to Watch Out For 

If you don’t complete the Assignment of Benefit form, we can’t bulk bill your appointment and private fees will apply.

Our Fees

IF YOU NO LONGER REQUIRE YOUR APPOINTMENT, WE PLEASE ASK YOU CONTACT OUR CLINIC TO CANCEL IT.  APPOINTMENTS NOT CANCELLED WITHIN 2 HOURS OF YOUR BOOKING TIME ON ANY DAY, WILL ATTRACT A NON-ATTENDANCE FEE.


Doctors consulting at our clinic are independent contractors and control their own fees, however they are happy to base their fees on the below schedule.

Please understand that these fees may change from one doctor to another.


We are a mixed billing clinic. 

Doctors will bulk bill pension and health care card holders and children under 16 only during set times as stipulated below.  

This applies Monday to Friday only.  

Fees apply for all other patients and consulting times.

Payment pre-authorisation will be required for ALL telephone consults and new patients.  This includes those on a concession card and children.

Failure to pre-authorise the payment within 2 hours of your appointment will result in your appointment being cancelled and offered to another patient.  If your GP offers to bulk bill your appointment, your held payment will be refunded directly back to your account.

Telephone consults:

Consults via a telehealth appointment are not automatically bulk billed.

Please check with the reception team when booking your appointment to see if you qualify.

A Medicare rebate will be available only to those patients who have had a face-to-face consult in the previous 12 months.

Monday - Friday 8am - 6pm:

15-minute appointment - $39.50 gap plus Medicare rebate

30-minute appointment - $55.50 gap plus Medicare rebate


Weekdays after 6pm, Weekends and Public Holidays:

15-minute appointment - $50.50 gap plus Medicare rebate

30-minute appointment - $66.50 gap plus Medicare rebate

Bulk billing is not available after 6pm Monday to Fridays, and on weekends and public holidays 

which include telephone consults and care planning.  Feel free to call our staff for fees on these days.

 

Adults who are the holder of a current Centrelink pension or health care card: 

15-minute appointment - $39.50 gap plus Medicare rebate

30-minute appointment - $55.50 gap plus Medicare rebate

A discounted gap payment applies for children under 6 years of age.

Mental Health Consults and Care Plans

Fees will now apply for the preparation and review of mental health care plans and for mental health consultations.  


Scripts and miscellaneous services with no appointment

All script requests and miscellaneous services such as referral letters, and medical certificates with no associated appointment will now attract a $25 non-rebatable private fee.  This includes forgotten requests at previous appointments.

Payment will be required prior to your GP completing your request.


Support letters/NDIS applications/Disability Support applications

Due to the length of time, it takes for our clinical team to prepare concise and accurate support letters and applications, a minimum fee of $400 will apply for the preparation of these which will be payable prior to completion.

It is requested that you provide complete information required in order for your GP to provide a quote for this service.

** please note patients who are not the holder of a current Medicare card will need to pay a private fee that may be reimbursed through your private health insurance.

PLEASE NOTE ALL FEES ARE TO BE PAID IN FULL AT THE TIME OF YOUR CONSULT.


Payment options

Our clinic uses the services of Tyro.

Allowing your Medicare rebate to be deposited back into your bank account at the time of your consult.   

Tyro is also used for the bulk bill assignment of benefits. 

Out of hours care

Afterhours care may be requested once our clinic has closed.

A private fee of $300 which is non-rebatable applies for this service.

These appointments are made by ringing our clinic in the afterhours period.  Payment is required prior to this service.

In an emergency, please call 000 for ambulance assistance.

Other fees

Procedures

All procedures which include services such as IUD insertions, minor skin procedures etc, attract a private non-Medicare rebatable fee.  For information on these fees please speak to our reception team or your GP.

Work injury claims

All fees incurred as a result of a work injury must be paid in full at the time of your consult.

No Accounts will be issued

Third party Claims

Third Party Claims involve motor vehicle accidents and personal injury claims.

All fees incurred as a result of these claims must be paid in full at the time of your consult.

No Accounts will be issued.

Pre-Employment Medicals

All pre-employment medicals must be paid for at the  time of your consult.

It is preferred that your employer inform us of their requirements so we can notify you of the fee.

Driving Medicals

Driving medicals for employment are unable to be billed through Medicare.

Fees incurred for these must be paid for at the time of your consult and can be claimed back through your employer
